Prevalence and triggering factors of unintended pregnancies among women in India: Evidence from Indian Demographic and Health Survey 2015–2016

ObjectivesThe primary focus of this study was to estimate the prevalence and assess associated risk factors that impact unintended pregnancies among women who were married in India.Study designThis utilized a cross sectional design.MethodsIt cross-sectional on 32224 pregnant extracted from most recent Demographic Health Study organized 2015 2016 (round 7) India. Facts statistics examined by utilizing different data analysis techniques, i.e., univariate, bivariate multivariate analysis.ResultsNearly 11.9% cases unplanned pregnancies, out which 7% early pregnancies. The mistimed pregnancy for aged 15–19 years 7.896 (6.246, 9.981) times more likely than age 30. living urban areas having 0.877 (0.778, 0.988) fewer chances have an parturiency as compared those rural areas. Women got before 18 0.583 (0.524, 0.650) less at over. with no children 0.217 (0.176, 0.268) three children.ConclusionFactors enhance probability unfavorable are first marriage, number dead children, wealth status, fertility preference, family planning knowledge. This survey suggests strengthening strategies so ratio decreases.
